Over the Hogar del Niño fundraising weekend, Casa de Campo villa owners enjoyed numerous sporting events and tournaments, with a prize-giving ceremony hosted during the “Zona Verde” dinner-dance party on Saturday evening the 18th of February.
The sporting activities which took place as part of the 15th annual Hogar del Niño fundraising activity were:
The Polo Tournament
The Hogar del Niño polo tournament was played out over 2 weeks with the finals celebrated on Friday the 17th of February – a passionate and exciting game between “La Potranca” (pictured above) and “Kiwi”, with “La Potranca” triumphing with a final score of 13 to 8. The Golf Tournament200 Casa de Campo golfers took part in the golf tournament played in a “scramble” format on the La Romana Country Club course. Click here for photos and the results!
The Tennis Tournament
The group of enthusiastic and philanthropic tennis players battled it out in a men’s and women’s division playing in a doubles round robin format, until the overall winners (based on the number of games they had won) fought over the champion title in a thrilling finals. At 9am on Saturday morning 72 cyclist raced off around Casa de Campo – some taking on the grueling 27km route, whilst other tackling the slightly more tame 12km route. Click here for photos and results!
The Zumba Master ClassThe following photos were taking during the prize-giving ceremony at the event finale – the dinner-dance party, hosted at the La Romana Country Club in Casa de Campo:

The Hogar del NiñoThe Hogar del Niño is a children’s daycare and educational center for over 1500 children, located in La Romana town, just outside of Casa de Campo. Children from as young as just a few weeks old up to 18 years old are cared for and educated daily, from as early as 5:30am and staying as late as 7pm. The organization also provides special schooling to over 75 hearing impaired and blind children, as well as a vocational school where over 235 students receive classes in different areas like: sewing; industrial preparation, installation and electrical maintenance; plumbing and management of computer office programs.
