The Altos de Chavón Art Gallery launched its latest exhibition, Dos Voces Pop Rompiendo Reglas, on Dec. 13, drawing art enthusiasts and community members from Casa de Campo. The event began with an evening cocktail reception at 7 p.m. and marked the debut of a collaboration with The Art People Project, a Dominican platform dedicated to contemporary art promotion.

Running through Jan. 13, 2025, the exhibition features the works of two renowned international artists, GaboArt and Denis Ouch. Each artist brings a unique perspective to pop art, blending cultural narratives with bold reinterpretations of iconic pieces.

GaboArt: Cartagena’s Urban Pop Vision

Hailing from Cartagena, Colombia, GaboArt merges urban pop with mixed media, drawing inspiration from his city’s vibrant culture. His contributions to the exhibition include reimagined classics such as Las Meninas, The Scream, and Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, infused with contemporary characters and vivid colors. These exclusive pieces, created for The Art People Project, celebrate the intersection of tradition and global culture.

Denis Ouch: Brooklyn’s Voice in Pop Art

Brooklyn-based artist Denis Ouch brings his signature street art style, combining stenciling, graffiti, and collage. His provocative works reinterpret cultural icons like Mona Lisa, Muhammad Ali, and Elvis Presley, blending classical sophistication with urban edge. Notable pieces in his collection include a series of map-based artworks, where iconic figures are overlaid onto New York City maps — a hallmark of his global exhibitions.

Dos Voces Pop Rompiendo Reglas offers a dynamic exploration of contemporary art, blending the energy of urban culture with timeless artistry. Visitors can view the exhibition at the Altos de Chavón Art Gallery until mid-January.
