Pinecrest Physical Therapy

A busy and active lifestyle is beneficial for our health, but at times can leave our bodies sore if they are not looked after properly. One bad golf swing can affect your lower back instantly and repeated tennis play can lead to pain in the joints. That’s not to say you shouldn’t be playing sports, just play with some TLC to keep you going longer.

What used to be seen as purely a post-injury action, physical therapy is constantly evolving and developing preventive measures to strengthen bodies and maintain good physical condition. General training for various muscles, liability detection, improving coordination and flexibility, and workout recovery techniques are just a few departments that physiotherapists are concerned with. One visit to the physical therapist may alert you to underlying issues you already have before they become larger problems.

Good news for Casa de Campo guests and residents is that Pinecrest Physical Therapy is located right here in the resort with its entrance near the hotel pool. Established by Ron Yacoub in Miami in 2005, Pinecrest opened up its practices here in the Dominican Republic in 2015 and is the only private physical therapy practice in the country. It offers a range of treatments and prevention methods for orthopedic and neurological conditions to help you recover, regain control, and return to your favorite activities.

Whether you are an athlete or not, repeated stress and conditioned movements can have negative, longterm physical effects. Something as simple as improperly sitting at your office desk, driving your car, or even sleeping can lead to tension. Did you know a headache can be the result of deep-rooted knots that are putting pressure on your spine? We’re big fans of Pinecrest’s Thermotherapy and Electrotherapy recovery methods. A massage followed up with heating pads helps to continuing relieving tension in the muscles, while a post-massage of electric currents will directly stimulate and treat the nerves and muscles in question, reducing internal swelling.

Rudiri Almonte is Pinecrest Physical Therapy’s representative in the Dominican Republic. She comes expertly recommended by several patients who’ve seen her for sports related injuries. We suggest you get to know her and the practice’s facilities and services which also include spin classes, individual workout plans, and a cohesive plan for visiting patients who already have a pre-existing physiotherapist and treatment plan.
