The main Gallery of Altos de Chavón will present next Saturday, December 16th, 2017, the photographic exhibition “Los Almendrones” by artists, Clara Martínez Thedy, Mary Rosa Jiménez, Carlos Acero, and Sandra Garip.
“Cities manifest their vitality in different ways, through their people, customs, rites, symbols, and realities. It is what they define as their identity. But the cities also have their own personality and Havana, Cuba, is restless and playful, warm and colorful. And speaking of colors, this photographic exhibition comes with the theme: “Los Almendrones” which alludes to the affectionate and somewhat ironic name given by Cubans to their old cars, suggestive both to the almond shape of their bodies and to the vital determination with which they continue to work through the years, hard to break like the shell of an almond.” – Mary Rosa Jiménez
The artists desire is that through each piece the assistants ignite the motor of the imagination, step on the accelerator of adventure and escape from the reality taking a trip through time.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until Monday, January 29, 2018.
