Have you always wanted to learn Italian or study writing? Well, we have good news for you! The PBO Technical Institute will be having a 3 month, twice a week Italian class starting this coming Monday, October 3rd from 6pm – 8pm and a 6 week Creative Writing course starting on October 6th!
As most of you know, the Patronato Benéfico Oriental (PBO), is home to the Hogar del Niño education and daycare center for over 1,500 impoverished students in the La Romana area, the Diagnostics center for advanced medical diagnosis, as well as the Technical Institute for teenagers and adults, and more social initiatives in La Romana. The PBO Technical Institute (ITPBO) trains young people and adults in the areas of IT, machine operation, industrial valances manufacturing and installation, design, sewing and upholstery, electricity, plumbing, water supply networks, installation of water pumps, and many more, allowing students to gain economic independence and contribute to society.
The Italian classes will be taught by Dino Moretti who has also previously taught at the Rio Salado Foundation. By the end of the short-term course, you’ll be proficient in basic Italian grammar and communication. Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesday from 6pm-8pm starting October 3rd with a duration of 3 months.
The Creative Writing course will be taught by Rubén Lamarche, a well known Dominican writer. He has written for various important publications such as Revista Tipo, Revista Digo, Benedicta S.A., El Financiero by Listín Diario, Sports 10, Sports Illustrated and is an associate international editor at Mercado Media Network. Ruben has also taught Creative Writing at the Altos de Chavón School of Design. The course at the PBO Technical Institute starts next week on Thursday, October 6th, once a week for six weeks.
