We LOVE long weekends! Every time there is a long weekend Casa de Campo comes alive and fills up with visitors, friends and family from all over the Dominican Republic, the States and especially Santo Domingo, all ready to really enjoy the long weekend! For most, the long weekend and hence the celebrations began on Thursday the 23rd of September, straight after work, when we all had 3 days of rest and relaxation to look forward to! Saturday night, the 25th of September was the party night, when every bar and restaurant in Casa de Campo was full with Casa de Campo villa owners, residents, family and friends making the most of the last night of the long weekend. We started the night at the Marina Casa de Campo (to see our photos, click here) before we circulated around the Altos de Chavón night scene. Arriving in Chavón at around midnight, we went straight to the Paria party, at the Dye Fore, which had an incredible set-up, the club house itself had been transformed into a lounge area, whilst the swimming pool had been completely covered over with a wooden dance floor and stage complete with projection screens. Unfortunately, when we arrived the party hadn’t exactly gotten going so after taking a few photos we went off to Papa Jacks and Onno’s bar seeking some action.
Action we found! Altos de Chavón was FULL, people were overflowing from Papa Jacks and loitering/having fun in the main plaza area, as well as of course tottering over the cobbles, between the two bars, Papa Jacks and Onno’s. At both Papa Jacks and Onno’s the party was in full swing, with sweaty bodies gyrating to a mix of music I can’t even identify!
In search of a slightly older crowd we headed back on over to the Praia ‘Party on the Rocks,’ where a more spacious dance floor and a refreshing breeze coming off the Dye Fore made for a much more comfortable dancing experience!
Adventure over, I was in bed before 3AM, so I have no idea how the parties developed or of what chaos and mayhem may have unfolded….
