There is truly no party more legendary then the annual Palmillaso boat party on New Years Eve and this year determined to join the party, Casa de Campo Living once again hired a catamaran and set sail to the idyllic beauty spot Palmilla, to welcome the New Year in true wet, wild and indulgent style!

rebecca hughes palmillaso The Casa de Campo Living Palmillaso catamaran, sponsored by Presidente beer and Ron Barcelo set sail from the Marina Casa de Campo a little before midday with an intrepid group of Casa de Campo villa owners, residents and visitors. Arriving before the main “Palmillaso” party got started, with the help of more than a couple of chilled Presidente’s with started the day with our own party; enjoying a dip in the sea (with a few Presidentes), a little sunbathing (and a few more Presidentes), as well as a little food to line the stomach (washed down by some more Presidentes.)

Before too long, the traditional Palmillaso circle of party boats started to form – which was our signal to go join the action……and so the party began!

Maneuvering a catamaran to successfully join the party was not easy (especially after so many Presidentes) but our commitment to the party drove us forward and we made it! The party scene that greeted us upon arrival was quiet impressive….

From there on in, the next few hours passed in a wild blur of boat and party hopping, dancing, toasts, swimming, splashing, champagne spraying and of course photo taking! Here are the fruits of my photo taking labor – I hope you enjoy, taking these photos was certainly a lot of hard work!

Of course all good things must come to an end, so before it got too dark to sail, we all hoped back onto the catamaran and headed back to the Marina Casa de Campo to continue the party at various private Casa de Campo celebrations, the La Romana Country Club and finally at Minitas Beach!

Many thanks to Presidente Beer and Ron Barcelo for keeping our Casa de Campo Living Palmillaso catamaran “well-oiled” and “merry” at the Palmillaso 2011! Until next year!
