isla catalina limpieza

The battle against polution doesn’t stop, specially when it comes to preserving Catalina Island’s beauty. This is why a group of people named ‘Clúster Turístico La Romana Bayahibe’, decided to get together to clean the coasts of “Isla Catalina.”

This ‘Operation Clean-Up’ at Catalina Island was held on sunday 20th of November with an assistance of 125 volunteers, who just in two hours, managed to clean the area and gather at least 110 bags of garbage (together, the bags weighed at least 3,000 pounds!!)

However, according to the Cluster Turistico Romana Bayahibe, in order to do a complete clean-up in the “Isla Catalina”, many more volunteers are required in the future, since this group would also like to clean larger areas under the sea.

Sponsored by many companies, this is one of many other activities which will be taking place in the following months! Would you like to join the Cluster Turístico Romana Bayahibe?
