A library of what? A library of books? What a revolutionary concept!!
I found this photo on the Facebook profile of a friend and it is undoubtedly classic ‘Only in the DR’, the sign reads ‘Libreria de libros’ which translated means ‘Library of books!’
Now maybe I misunderstood the meaning of the word ‘library’, but to my knowledge ‘library’ in general means a collection of books – now of course it can be used to mean a collection of other things…but one would normally just assume that a library had books in it.
So then I thought maybe the Dominican/Spanish word ‘libreria’ has a different meaning, but no in Spanish the meaning of ‘libreria’ is very definitely a collection of books, which begs the question: ‘What do these people normally keep in their library?’
