Only in the Dominican Republic would you see someone literally drive their motorbike across the sand to the waters edge before going fishing!
This week’s ‘Only in the DR’ photo was taken by me on a trip to Macao, a lovely Dominican Beach on the North-Eastern coast of the Dominican Republic, an adventure so full of unexpected Dominican sights and surprises I have already published 2 articles about the experience. Click on the links below to read them:

Only in the DR: My bike ‘super gato’ swims!
Anyway, so the brief story behind the above photo is as follows:
Philip and I are on Macao beach, enjoying a cold Presidente beer and some tostones, when this motorbike loaded with 3 men and their fishing gear roars past us, showering us with sand, moments later the driver of the bike then parks by edge of the water and as he is conveniently already wearing his mask, the 3 of them take their giant fish hunting harpoons and jump straight into the water – leaving the bike abandoned in the sand.
We want your photos and/or stories! If you have any photos of classic DR scenes or even bizarre photos or stories, we would love to hear from you!
