This week’s ‘Only in the DR’ post continues our goat theme and so it seems the Dominican Republic and/or Casa de Campo Living is indeed obsessed by goats…..
The sign reads:
EL ROJO ES PARA PARAR
RESPETA LAS SEÑALES DE TRANSITO
NO PODEMOS VIVIR COMO CHIVOS SIN LEY
Which can be translated as:
The color red is for stopping
Respect the traffic lights
We cant live like goats without laws.
CLASSIC – ONLY IN THE DR!!!
It seems that this sign, placed on a bridge, presumably near some traffic lights is actually comparing Dominicans to goats?? and lawless goats at that!
Well Dominicans, I think the message is loud and clear – DO NOT LIVE LIKE GOATS!
Of course, it (almost) goes without saying that I do not actually think that Dominicans live like goats, I feel it necessary to highlight that I am JOKING! Remember, ‘Only in the DR’ posts are meant to be amusing! I’m not at all criticising the DR – merely laughing at it’s eccentricities!
However, it definitely IS a good idea to stop at red lights (except if you’re a goat.)
