Want to try something different this summer? Well, we have an excellent recommendation… Stage con Maletas is a summer workshop where dancers from 8 years onwards get to spend a week in the USA! In dance workshops, they’ll learn different techniques from international dance instructors.
Stage Art Studio opened in La Romana a year ago, but Alicia Campillo has been teaching for longer than that. Back in 2009, she founded Stage Intensivo de danza y espectaculo – an intensive dance workshop both in Santo Domingo and in Santiago. This brought many talented, aspiring, and even seasoned dancers together where they had the opportunity to learn from one another and from various local and international choreographers. After seeing how successful it was, she decided to expand her horizons – literally! – and designed a workshop that would take a group of dancers to the states to learn from selected dance studios. The first trip was in 2011 and they went to NYC!
Stage con Maletas aims to help dancers grow in a comprehensive way. Coexistence, effort, and fun are the main protagonists in this adventure. This year, they head back to Disney with the Performing Arts On Stage program, from July 23rd to 30th. It will be a wonderful chance to learn from Disney’s very own instructors and have fun in the process! Last year, a group went to Los Angeles and were fascinated by the experience… they even got to train at Millenium Dance Complex – known worldwide as the premiere studio of the commercial dance world. It is widely referred to as a ‘the place where it all happens’.
This trip is a learning experience for dancers from 8 years upwards, and Stage wants to extend the invitation to relatives and friends. Minors can travel with permission and the director as a guardian. We encourage you to ask for an individual quote as packages vary according the age of dancer attending and type of accommodation.
