Last Saturday, October 17, Altos de Chavón celebrated their annual version of Oktoberfest. The world’s largest Volksfest (which means beer festival and traveling funfair) which started in Munich a couple of centuries ago is now a festivity celebrated all across the world and Altos de Chavón was not one to stay behind! This year the annual activity was modified and adapted to the new Casa Cares health and safety protocols, thus guaranteeing the health of its visitors.

At 6:30 pm kids were enchanted by the incredible magician Gody stands out, who from early on delighted the little ones with his spectacular acts and dances. Following the kid’s show, a jazz quartet took the stage with live music which complemented the festive atmosphere.

“This event is part of the ongoing activities and new initiatives that we have been working on for both our community and guests. We have a lot of exciting things planned for the next few months and our team looks forward to sharing them all with everyone soon. ” explained Jason Kycek, senior vice president of sales and marketing.

The most anticipated moment of the event was the participation of comedian Carlos Sánchez, who made his first live presentation after the quarantine imposed by COVID-19. Carlos Sánchez, better known as Carlos Comic in his social media accounts, made everyone laugh with a repertoire of jokes and monologues focused on the vicissitudes experienced in Dominican families due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Guests and residents enjoyed a wide range of local beers and German beer brands such as Erdinger, Catalina Hefeweizen, Munich Helles, Guibia, Franziskaner Weissbier, among others. Within the BBQ menu, the resort offered various types of German sausages with sauerkraut, pretzels, and artisan bread. YUM!! While the restaurants located in Altos de Chavón were integrated into the event with special menus, beer offers, and barbecues.

It was a fun-filled evening under the stars where friends and guests were able to safely enjoy the outdoors event, respecting social distancing, and the use of masks and disinfectant gel at all times.

“I congratulate you for the initiative to carry out this activity outdoors. It’s the first time my family and I go to an event and we had a great time. With this pandemic its difficult to go out, so we always come on the weekends to Casa de Campo and find activities to do as a family in the open air. Right now everybody needs these types of activities so I hope you continue to do more. There were hand sanitizers in various places and everyone used their face mask which makes everyone feel secure. Thank you and I hope you keep doing more activities like this!”
