On Saturday the 23rd of March 2013, the magical National Museum celebrations will return to Altos de Chavon – and you are invited to join the fun!

As part of the celebrations created by the Dominican Ministry of Culture, which is celebrated across the country, the wonderful “Noche Larga de Los Museos” will be held in Altos de Chavon, organized and supported by the Altos de Chavon Regional Archaeological Museum, hosting endless cultural and fun activities starting from 9am until midnight – a perfect opportunity to learn and enjoy a beautiful day with the family!

Here are all the details:

National Museum Celebrations in Chavón

When: Saturday the 23rd of March, 2013.

10 am: Documentary Film “The History and Life of Juan Pablo Duarte”
Held as part of the celebrations of the 200th birthday of Juan Pablo Duarte, the Dominican Republic’s Founding Father, responsable for gaining the Dominican Independence in 1844.
This film is 45 minutes and will be screened in Spanish.

5pm: Artisans Fair
Little girls will have the opportunity to create their own traditional baskets and little boys and get involved too – learning how to make woven baskets and hats. There will also be craft classes for adults too!

5-8pm: Handcrafted Jewelry sale and exhibit

5-8pm: Perico Ripiao: Typical Dominican dances and music
