We’ve all come to expect the first Café de la Leche to be hosted by Ana Maria Paniagua, so when this year, the first celebration of the New Year took place (in great style) at Shine in Altos de Chavón, a number of us were left wondering when we would next get the opportunity to enjoy the stunning sunset as seen from the terrace of the Paniagua’s Casa de Campo villa. Well ladies – our chance returns this Friday the 8th of February!
With Annie as the elegant hostess, her edition of the Café de la Leche hosted to gather milk supplies for the Hogar del Niño’s crib room, is always one of my favorites – not least for the incredible view and sunset over the Chavón river and the Marina Casa de Campo but also for the breeze, accompanied by delicious cocktails and nibbles.
No doubt the prime topic of conversation for this delightful gathering will be the upcoming “Café de la Leche CRUISE”, yes cruise – on the Costa Luminosa being planned for the 15th to the 22nd of April…..no more details have yet been announced – as soon as I know more I’ll let you know!
We look forward to seeing you there! Remember arrive early – the view and the sunset is certainly worth it!
AND don’t forget – Friday the 8th of February is also the Chines New Year Celebration at Chinois in the Marina Casa de Campo! Click here for details!

Below are snippets and photos from previous Café de la Leche gatherings hosted by Annie Paniagua:
On Friday the 6th of January 2012, otherwise known as “3 Kings Day” or “Días de los reyes magos” in the Dominican Republic, ladies bearing gifts of milk and cereals turned out to the celebrate the 1st Café de la Leche of the new year (2012) at the Casa de Campo villa of hostess, Anna Maria Paniagua.
On Friday the 7th of January 2011, the evening before the Feria Barlovento, the first Cafe de la Leche of the year 2011 was graciously hosted by Casa de Campo resident, Annie Paniagua.
The Cafe de la Leche is a monthly charitable event, a little like a coffee or a tea party held for the ladies of Casa de Campo (although men are occasionally invited) and usually takes place on the first Friday of the month, hosted by a member of the Casa de Campo villa at her Casa de Campo villa or occasionally restaurant/business.
