The NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital organized a symposium with doctors, businessmen, insurance representatives, athletes and relatives of the Hospital at the JW Marriott Hotel, where an exchange was held with “Top Doctors“ of this medical institution: Paul G. Lee, Christopher Ahmad, Rafael A. Lantigua and William N. Levine. These specialists from the NewYork-Presbyterian, which is the university hospital of the faculties of medicine of Columbia and Cornell, shared with the assistants their knowledge and professional experiences related to sports medicine. The NewYork-Presbyterian being the official hospital of the New York Yankees also had the honor of being accompanied by the famous baseball player Mariano Rivera, a legendary figure of the Major Leagues of the United States. On this occasion, Dr. Paul G. Lee, chief doctor of the New York Yankees and New York City Football Club teams, thanked the guests for their presence and talked about the importance of assembling the best possible medical team to care for patients. He also highlighted the role that NewYork-Presbyterian plays in that area, where he also serves as an associate professor in Medicine and medical director of the Global Services department. During the activity the speakers also presented their views on sports medicine with a focus on the prevention and treatment of diseases and injuries derived from physical activity aimed at exercise, training and sports: Dr. Christopher Ahmad, professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Trauma from NYP / Columbia University Irving Medical Center and surgeon in charge of the New York Yankees; Dr. Rafael A. Lantigua, associate medical director of Internal Medicine at the NYP / Columbia University Irving Medical Center; and Dr. William N. Levine, professor and head of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, NYP / Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
