‘La Entrada’ or ‘La Puerta Principal’ (the entranceway to Casa de Campo) is my least favorite part of Casa de Campo, although I understand and appreciate the need for the strict entrance procedures, getting in and out of Casa de Campo, has in the past sometimes been time-consuming and a little frustrating…..but now Costasur has updated their system, so we can look forward to coming and going with ease!

Below you can read the letter from Alfonso Paniagua of Costasur explaining these new procedures in full, however here is a quick summary:
•  Automatic passes can still be used for entrance to Casa de Campo via the automatic gate – these can be purchased for RD$993
•  If you do NOT have an automatic pass, you can gain access to Casa de Campo by showing any type of ID to the staff, who will then verify your identity as a villa owner using a newly installed computer with a complete database of villa owners.

Here is the letter from Costasur – I found this letter on the Facebook page ‘Accesos Casa de Campo’ which I believe to be genuine.

Dear Owners:

In order to increase the efficiency of our security processes within Casa de Campo, we are please to inform owners who do not have an automatic pass, that these will be replacing the vehicle owners stickers used to access to the complex. By using these passes, we hope to improve the procedures for entry to the resort by the owners.

Although we encourage and recommend all owners to obtain the automatic pass, the owners who do not have this card or while they apply for it, may enter through the non-automatic lane. At this location we have installed a new computer terminal with a database of all owners where upon showing any type of ID the staff will verify the owner’s identity to allow entry to the resort. The current sticker will continue to be valid until April 15th, 2011.

The functions of the automated pass will be as follows:

1 – Identification of the owner.

2 – Sensor to open the automatic gate.

3 – Replacement of Courtesy Card. (This will be notified in due course)

For the foregoing reasons, we reiterate that these passes are not transferable and must be used exclusively for whom it was issued. Owners who have chauffeurs must apply for a separate pass so they can enter through the appropriate door.

The automatic pass only applies to the following persons:
a) owners
b) owners children’s
c) in-laws
e) owner’s parents.

Other family members must submit an application for a visitor’s pass. To facilitate the issuance and securing of such passes Costasur Dominicana, S. A, has decided to absorb part of the cost and therefore we will be issuing the passes at a cost of RD$993.00 each in the period from February 15, 2011 and April 15, 2011.

To request automatic pass please contact our Sales Department.

We appreciate your valuable cooperation in this regard.

Sincerely

Alfonso Paniagua

Vicepresident administrator
