New museologist at the Altos de Chavón Museum of Archaeology

The Altos de Chavón Archaeological Museum recently welcomed its new director, museologist and historian Margarita González. Margarita was coordinator of the department of educational services of the Museum of Modern Art, and has conceptualized, executed, and commissioned five Dominican museums, such as Trampolin Children’s Museum and Telecommunications Cultural Center in Sto. Dgo, the President Ramón Cáceres Museum in Moca, General Gregorio Luperón House Museum in Puerto Plata and the “La Flor Dominicana” Tobacco Museum in La Romana.

She was director of the Alcázar de Colón Viceroyalty Museum and the Juan Ponce de León Museum. Margarita has also developed an innovative line of interactive educational resources and, together with the PUCMM and the Bellapart Museum, implemented a specialization program in museographic studies to formalize education in the field of museums in our country.
