On Wednesday, September 23rd the Clinica de Familia La Romana celebrated the opening of a new imaging and diagnostic service center, a fabulous addition, which will continue to support the clinic’s mission – a community where all families have access to health services, so that way they can enjoy a good quality of life.
The opening ceremony of this new service center was led by Hilda Peguero, who also is part of the board of Clinica de Familia. Taking part in the event was the Ambassador of Japan Mr. Takashi Fuchigami, the Provincial Governor of La Romana, Dr. Juan Jose Santana, Provincial Director of Health Department, Dr. Rhina Reyes, President of the Board of Directors of the Clinica de Familia, Ms. Martha Victoria and the Executive Director of Clinica de Familia, Mina Halpern Lozada. Also present at this important activity were many representatives of the health sector who support the work of the Clinica de Familia La Romana.

“The government of Japan has been contributing to the Dominican Republic in various areas such as education, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, public health and the environment, with the aim of supporting the efforts of Dominicans to further socio-economic development”, said Ambassador Japan Mr. Takashi Fuchigami.

After the words of the Ambassador of Japan, and the Executive Director of the Clinica de Familia, the guests were able to tour around the facilities where the staff operate sonography, X-ray and echocardiogram. Mina Halpern Lozada read a placard to thank the Japanese people for this important gift, following which the ribbon cutting by the Provincial Governor of La Romana and the Ambassador of Japan, as well as the Executive Director of the institution.
