The Fundación MIR Magical Splendor Gala is a much-anticipated fashion event for Casa de Campo community members and international guests. Hosted by Raysa and Alfy Fanjul the glamorous event featured the internationally recognized fashion designer, Naeem Khan, and his Spring / Summer 2023 collections. The evening couldn’t have been more whimsical with candles lighting up pathways and guests arriving in beautiful cocktail dresses.
After all the guests had arrived, they were invited to walk over to the dinner area where the evening’s emcee, Renata Soñé welcomed Lian Fanjul de Azqueta, founder of the Fundación MIR and Lyanne Azqueta, Vice President of MIR Charities to the stage.
After Father Hardy Thelemake’s blessing, MIR Alumn Angelina Morla took the stage with representatives of Baptist Health International to speak about her participation in the International Risk Management and Quality in Health Certificate taught by Florida International University, in the city of Miami; a dream come true thanks to the sponsorship by the Baptist Health International, part of Baptist Health South Florida, and the Florida International Robert Stempel School of Public Health and Social Work University.
Following her speech, the Popurri choir made up of Fundación MIR students took the stage and performed two songs. After their presentation, the Fashion Show was in full swing! Dresses varied from beautiful embroidered dresses to sheer, beaded overlays, to colorful princess dresses, to elegant evening gowns. The crowd was completely mesmerized by the music, colors, and statement pieces going down the runway.
Guests in attendance also collaborated with the cause in what has become the traditional auction of dresses by Naeem Khan and were later able to dance the night away with live music by Dekadas and DJ Louder.
For over 30 years, Fundación MIR has promoted extensive education and health programs in its school’s vocational courses for females and males. Each year, they continue to advance, both for their students to have higher education and for their graduates to have a better position in the labor market.
Overall the most important thing is that guests had the opportunity to witness the power of love, solidarity, and above all, the doors that are opened to the young people of La Romana because of a good education.
A big thanks to the Fundación MIR, along with Alfy and Raysa Fanjul, who outdid themselves again this year in a wonderful night of charity and fun.
