Nacional Supermarket Marina Casa de Campo

Good morning ladies and gentlemen… We bring you grave news – our beloved supermarket in the Marina Casa de Campo is closing for an entire month!

Back in November 2014 we brought you news that the Nacional Supermarket in the Marina Casa de Campo would be undergoing renovations… And while we saw lots of action, the actual supermarket didn’t seem to change much – and then the renovations came to a halt.

Well now that life here in Casa de Campo is on a “go slow” for low season, the Nacional Supermarket have decided that it’s the perfect moment to finish their renovations! Great news for our future shopping experience at the Marina Casa de Campo, but for right now this means that the supermarket will closed throughout the entire month of June.

That’s right the Nacional Supermarket in the Marina Casa de Campo will be closed from this Monday June 1st through to Tuesday June 30th.

During this time we suggest you take care of your shopping needs in La Romana at Plaza Lama or at Jumbo, or if you need something simple and quick (bananas, eggs, toilet roll) you can pop up to El Mercadito mini-mart in Altos de Chavón.

So what are they doing?

1. Replacing all the fridges and freezers

“We will substitute all the fridges for modern eco friendly Italian equipments”, a representative from Nacional Supermarket told Casa de Campo Living.

2. La Bodega will be moved to the ground floor

La Bodega, the supermarket’s liquor area will be moved to the ground floor.

3. More fresh foods

The area of fruits and vegetables will be amplified, as will the deli area.

4. More storage space

“Out back” where the supermarket keeps things not on the shelves will be larger.

5. Faster, easier checkout.

“We will have more space in the cash register area”, said Nacional.
