Last Tuesday the 28th of December, the Casa de Campo community once again gathered in front of the Altos de Chavon church, this time to celebrate Christmas with a special performance of the Nativity story – the Nacimiente Viviente MIR, which was performed by the Fundacion MIR’s talented actors, actresses and singers under the expert direction of Paola Treviño de Gonzalez.
Paola, an actress, model and singer herself did an excellent job in directing the show – a musical version of the original Nativity play, which told the story with small sections of spoken word and acting, interspersed with lively songs. The singing aspect was presented by 2 choirs; an older group of girls with strong beautiful voices and a younger group who sang and danced beautifully. With the acting, dancing and singing it was a spectacle from all angles!
A large crowd of more than 100 Casa de Campo villa owners, residents and visitors, including many VIP’s were in the audience, including Lian Fanjul de Azqueta, the founder of the Fundacion MIR and her daughter Lyanne Azqueta, who currently runs the MIR charities.
An excellent afternoon’s entertainment, the children were truly fantastic – a shining refelction of the excellent education they are receiving thanks to the MIR schools.

Since 1990, we have served the women, youth and children of La Romana and the Eastern region of the Dominican Republic by partnering with and providing funding for social programs. With the help of benefactors and individual contributions, the programs provide a home, medical assistance, education and technical preparation for the people that are most in need in our community.
