The Multiplaza La Romana shopping center recently closed their Villalegría campaign, which raised funds for the Solidaridad Calasancia (SOLCA) and the Patronato Benéfico Oriental Hogar del Niño, non-profit organizations that promote education, health and a better quality of life for more than 2,000 poor children of La Romana. The initiative was supported by 3,664 customers and 27 establishments in the commercial plaza.
The Villalegría social action campaign ran from December 4, 2017 to January 7 of this year. Through the purchase of gift cards that were available in the different stores located in Multiplaza La Romana, customers collaborated with the projects of Fundación SOLCA and Patronato Benéfico Oriental Hogar del Niño of La Romana. The cards had a cost of 50 pesos and in each one the dream of a child was reflected sponsored by the entities.
During the campaign, the main hall of the mall was decorated with a beautiful Christmas village and a large Christmas tree was installed. The clients placed the gift cards of Villalegría in the Christmas tree. Likewise, customers and visitors enjoyed different activities, such as caroling, perico ripiao and cartoon characters.
During the Villalegría campaign, RD $ 184,000 pesos were raised, thanks to the sales of the Christmas cards that were offered in the different businesses in the plaza. These funds were increased by Multiplaza to RD $400,000, an amount that was distributed between the two beneficiary entities. The contributions were delivered to the representatives of both organizations during a cocktail party held at Multiplaza La Romana, attended by clients, tenants of the plaza and executives of Grupo Ramos, the company that operates the shopping center.
During his welcome speech, Luis Arturo Hernández, head of Real Estate Business of Grupo Ramos, stressed that the creation of this type of social welfare campaigns respond to the high commitment and interest that the company has to contribute to the welfare of the communities where they are. “We thank the 3,664 customers and visitors of Multiplaza La Romana who gave their support to the Villalegría campaign, as well as the 27 establishments that enthusiastically joined that cause from the first day, actively collaborating with the sale of the cards. We are very satisfied and proud to have served as a bridge of solidarity so that the children who are helped by the SOLCA and Hogar del Niño foundations to fulfill, in large part, their dreams.”
