The talented students of the Fundación MIR did it again! On Friday, December 12th, the town of Bethlehem took over Altos de Chavón and we traveled 2,000 years back in time for a recount of Jesus’s birth, performed in a Live Nativity scene.
Many families gathered in front of St. Stanislaus Church eager to admire their children on stage and view this adored holiday tradition that makes us reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
Ronald Maidens, the new director of Fundación MIR, welcomed the audience firsthand with a short introduction and then handed the stage over to the children to begin their skit. The skit included many elements representing the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, showcasing the shepherds, angels, Three Kings, and Mary and Joseph, along with the Fundación MIR choir, who serenaded audience members with traditional Dominican Christmas carols. Altos de Chavón’s lighting backdrop only added to the beauty of the starry night of Jesus’ arrival. Congratulations performers on a job well done!
