Last Friday, January 11, the Minister of Health of the Dominican Republic; Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas visited the facilities of MIR Charities and the World of Smiles Dental Clinic was officially authorized to operate regularly in Campo MIR Esperanza. The clinic has two Dental offices, an X-Ray and Sterilization Room and a fully equipped Surgery Room. These equipments were all donated by Dr. Hudson of New York and the Rotary Club of Florida. The children of MIR Charities received the visitors and the press with a beautiful presentation and welcomed them all to their school.  Minister Sánchez Cárdenas was impressed by the school facilities and operations and committed to develop more programs together with MIR Charities so they are able to expand its educational and welfare services for the community. The tour of the Minister accompanied by Ms. Lian Fanjul de Azqueta; President and Foundress of the Organization included the Taxidermy Museum, unique in the region and soon to be open to the public; The gastronomy kitchen, where the students of Politécnico MIR Esperanza expected the visitors with very appetizing hors d’oeuvres; The new classrooms and the Library of the Primary School, where the children were enjoying a dramatized story by one of their teachers. Also present during the tour were Sandra Hernández, member of the Board of Directors; Mr. Daniel Hernández, Vice President of the AmResorts chain; Mr. Gustavo Hernando, advisor to the Minister of Health; Dr. Bruno Calderón Troncoso, Director of Enabling and Accreditation and Mr. Jorge Sturla, Director of Communications of Central Romana Corporation, as well as provincial health authorities. MIR Charities continues to expand its offers and services for the progress of the community and the cultural growth of La Romana.
