After 25 years of bringing much joy and happiness to many kids, Miguelito, one of Casa de Campo’s dearest ponies, has retired! Miguelito will now be in the Petting Zoo where he will continue to interact with children and the Casa de Campo guests in a different way.
This beloved pony was sent brought here by Central Romana so that all kids in Casa de Campo could take a ride around the ranch. Miguelito has always enjoyed great health and has loved taking the kids on rides. It was always incredible to see how the children experienced the thrills of horseback riding in such a safe environment and with a wonderful pony like Miguelito who loves children and has always behaved in an excellent manner.
After all these years of service Dr. Fernando Arata, Casa de Campo’s Polo and Equestrian Center Director has decided that Miguelito had earned his retirement in the Petting Zoo. A couple of days ago, he and the center’s staff prepared a beautiful ceremony in honor of Miguelito where they also shared great stories of him over the years. One of the handlers even thought of and performed a song on the spot about the much-loved pony!
Can you believe that over 10,000 kids have taken rides with him?! Do you have pictures with Miguelito over the years? If you do email them to info@silgon.net, we would love to feature them on our social media accounts and even hang them in the Dude Ranch! We hope he will have a happy and healthy retirement at the Petting Zoo!
