Memories of: The Sugar Golf Tournament 2011

Today, Wednesday March 28th 2012, the 27th annual Sugar Golf Tournament starts in Casa de Campo with practice rounds being played on all of Casa de Campo’s golf courses; the Teeth of the Dog, the La Romana Country Club, the Dye Fore and the newly re-opened and refurbished Links. And to celebrate we decided to “remember” the Sugar Golf Tournament 2011 – with an overview and photos of last year’s event. 

Celebrated in mid Aril 2011, the Sugar Tournament 2011 was a great success, and one that I’m sure everyone involves has great memories of!

Welcome Cocktail hosted by I.B.I

On Wednesday the 13th of April the grand opening to the 26th annual Sugar Open Golf Tournament took place at the Casa de Campo Yacht Club, an event hosted by Marina Casa de Campo business I.B.I and sponsored by Vinos S.A. and Ron Atlantico.

 BBQ and Pizza with the Gonzalez-Bunsters

As part of the celebrations surrounding the Sugar Golf Tournament, when Monica and Rolando Gonzalez-Bunster hosted a wonderful dinner at their gorgeous Casa de Campo villa.

Blue skies, fast greens and long drives!

Playing in teams of 2 players, the golfers took part in the 2-day 36 hole contest, in the format ‘Better Ball of partners’, with the men competing on the Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore, whilst the lady golfers played on the Links and the La Romana Country Club courses.

Dinner, Dancing and Prizes!

The Sugar Golf Tournament 2011 came to a successful close on Saturday evening the 16th of April 2011 with a little shopping at the MIR Bazaar, dinner, dancing and a prize giving ceremony at the La Romana Country Club.

The MIR Bazaar and Ladies Luncheon – a fashionable success! 

The ladies luncheon at MIR Bazaar 2011 took place on Saturday the 16th of April, hosted by Lian Fanjul de Azqueta was a super success – ladies enjoyed a shoppers paradise, as well as a delicious lunch (and a few glasses of wine) and a fashion by Sissy Bermudez modelled by the children of Casa de Campo, with the youngest model being Lyanne, the daughter of Lyanne Azqueta, the President of the Fundacion MIR.
