This past Saturday the 30th of March, the Altos de Chavón amphitheater filled with bright stars. The Mega Chavón concert welcomed to the stage many great Dominican musicians, such as Fernando Villalona, Wason Brazoban, Sergio Vargas, and many more.
It was a night filled with music, fun and above all rapturous applause.
The first to take to the stage brightly lit with a tropical mix of lights and filled with an ensemble of musicians was Wason Brazoban, who with his magical voice and beautiful ballads such as “en un sólo día“, “tu eres mi reina” and “tu ausencia” was an unforgettable start to the evening.
Following Wason came Melymel, who had everyone dancing with his rhythmic and upbeat songs. Following that one by one, each of the incredible line-up of 8 Dominican stars took to the stage, each bringing the audience something different and entertaining. In perhaps the longest concert ever to take place at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater, Wason Brazoban, Fernando Villalona, el Poeta Callejero, Sergio Vargas, Mozart la Para, La Materialista and Milka y Melymel had the Sábado Santo party crowd dancing through to 4am!
One of the most memorable moments came when Sergio Vargas appeared on the stage, and asked “old songs or new songs” and everyone replied in unison “old songs”, and so he started to sing, thrilling the crowd with his biggest hits of the 80’s; “dile“, “pero que va” and “que te has creído” amongst many others.
And last but not least, El Poeta Callejero closed the show with his catchy songs, that kept the remainder of the audience singing through to almost sunrise!
Mega Chavón definitely was a great concert, that made Sábado Santo 2013 unforgettable!
