CDCL: What motivated you to join the Golf at Casa de Campo?

PJLP: After having spent 8 months here as Intern in which my main motivation at that time was to learn more about the golf industry and what a Resort like Casa de Campo operated like. When I returend the second time a little over a year ago I came back with the goal in mind to help make the facility better through my work but also to grow myself as a PGA Professional and to learn and do more here than I had done before while still maintaing and setting a new standard for how we do things here.

CDCL: What is your previous experience in golf?

PJLP: I grew up playing golf and feel and love with the game at a young age. I took my interest in golf and turned into my career which started 10 years ago when I started working as Junior golf instructor in 2014 and have countinued to work in golf every year since then having been employeed at 7 different facilities in Michigan from 2014 – 2022 in which I have held professional titles and responsabilities at all of my facilities from 2018 – 2022 in which I worked at private country clubs and resorts during that time frame doing everything from opening the daily task to managing the total operation of the entire facilities I have previously worked at.

CDCL: What is your specific role as PGA Assistant Golf Professional?

PJLP: My goals here are to the best PGA Professional I can be and to better the facility in any way I can. In addition to being apart of a team that sets a standard for quality and excellence from start to finish for the guests and residents of Casa de Campo.

CDCL: What aspect of golf do you find most fascinating or exciting?

PJLP: The people. Its amazing how many people golf can bring together in somemany different ways and getting to meet as many people as I can is always exciting because of the stories, ideas, and connections they can bring.

CDCL: Who is your favorite golfer and why?

PJLP: Arnold Palmer. It is hard to find a professional who did as much for the industry as a whole. The way he conducted himself and valued others set a high standard that we all should hope to follow.

CDCL: What does it mean to be part of the most important golf resort in the Caribbean?

PJLP:  It is an amazing opportunity for me to develop myslef as a Professonal so that I can be the best I can be. In addition to that it brings fourth the exciting opportunity to meet new people from all over the world. Being here also brings the intrig of being at a facility in which others look to see what we do that makes stand amogst the rest of the Carribean. Being here definetly means being apart of something bigger than just yourself and that alone is exciting to be a part of.
