Last Saturday the 7th of January, Casa de Campo Living in collaboration with the Marina Casa de Campo, celebrated the 3rd annual Feria Barlovento, Venetian Festival on the Calle Barlovento; a fun street fair with masquerade costumes, feathers, cocktails, numerous art exhibits, as well as lots of great shopping opportunities.
From 6pm – 10pm, the Marina Casa de Campo’s normally quiet shopping boulevard came alive with bustling activities and several hundred masquerade Casa de Campo villa owners. Here we bring you an overview of this great event:
A Venetian Masquerade
Celebrated in the theme of a “Venetian Carnaval”, many Casa de Campo villa owners and visitors attend the 3rd annual Feria Barlovento in “masquerade” sporting sequined and feathered masks and hats. Those who got into the venetian spirit were automatically entered into the masquerade costume contest – we will be announcing the winners soon!
As part of the 3rd annual Feria barlovento, Elementos hosted a “Wine and Cheese Cocktail” with Carol Trembley of Casa Wine Shop. Passers-by enjoyed a delicious selection of French and Italian wines, which they were invited to pair with a variety of cheeses, whilst enjoying the art-furniture of Jean Pierre Frey, created using discarded pieces of wood and other ‘found’ or ‘rescued’ objects.
During the 3rd annual Feria Barlovento, Franco Ciarlo a well-known and talented Casa de Campo artist celebrated the opening of his new art exhibit in the Marina Casa de Campo with an inauguration cocktail.
Boutique (and bargain) shopping on the Calle Barlovento!
Whilst many Marina Casa de Campo stores and business took part in the 3rd annual Feria Barlovento, there was no other store which shone as brightly as the Rubiluna Collection boutique – who enticed shoppers with a “brindis”, as well as numerous special offers and discounts, and who had also decorated the entire store in full Venetian style with gondola, gondolier, masks, feathers and even their staff were wearing creative masquerade costumes! Also an attraction for shoppers was Dedon, with their outdoor lounge, where guests were invited to relax with a glass of wine.
