Every year the “barely there” bikini cover shot of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition causes a stir worldwide. This year, Sports Illustrated raised the bar yet again… Martha Stewart, the iconic businesswoman and lifestyle guru, has once again defied age and expectations with her latest achievement. At 81 years old, Stewart has become the oldest cover star in the history of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. Renowned photographer Ruven Afanador captured the stunning cover shot, which was taken in the breathtaking setting of our very own Casa de Campo Resort.
In a recent video interview with Sports Illustrated during her photoshoot in Casa de Campo, Stewart shared her motivation behind accepting this groundbreaking opportunity. She stated, “Usually I’m motivated by pay, but this time I was motivated by showing people that a woman my age can still look good, feel good, be good.” With her appearance on the cover, Stewart aims to inspire other women to believe that they can achieve their dreams, regardless of age. Stewart’s positivity and determination shine through her words, inspiring women of all ages to embrace their individuality and pursue their dreams.
Casa de Campo served as the backdrop for Stewart’s captivating photo shoot, and she enjoyed her stay at the luxurious accommodations the resort provided. Stewart expressed her enthusiasm about her experience in the Dominican Republic, saying, “It’s a very inspiring place. Look at a picture of Martha Stewart in the ocean here at Casa de Campo and see something gorgeous.” The stunning villa and its breathtaking surroundings perfectly complemented Stewart’s timeless elegance and added an extra touch of allure to the already iconic shoot.

Stewart’s SI Swimsuit cover shot showcases her timeless beauty and elegant style. Wearing a plunging white one-piece suit from Monday Swimwear, complemented by an oversized burnt-orange cover-up from TORSO CREATIONS and a stunning yellow-diamond ring from Jacob & Co, she exudes confidence and grace. Her signature blonde bob, styled in voluminous, tousled waves, adds to her radiant appearance and subtle glam, featuring a bronzy glow and a peach lip.
Additional images from the photoshoot reveal Stewart’s versatility and fashion-forward choices. She showcases different styles and looks effortlessly, from a ruched champagne-colored Isa Boulder one-piece paired with a large straw hat to a metallic silver Body Glove zip-up suit adorned with white Gucci sunglasses. A deep-cut red swimsuit with a sarong highlights her boldness and sense of adventure.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit editor-in-chief, MJ Day, highlighted the significance of featuring an incredibly diverse group of women who defy societal norms and forge their own paths. Stewart’s cover presence, alongside fellow cover stars Megan Fox, Kim Petras, and Brooks Nader (whose photos were also shot in the Dominican Republic), exemplifies strength, resilience, and unwavering passion. Their collective stories inspire readers to break free from limitations and embrace their true potential.
