Marina Casa de Campo illuminated with classic Italian style

Last Saturday the 17th of August at the Marina Casa de Campo, the Dominican-Italian Chamber of Commerce hosted the “Excellence Made in Italy” event showcasing classic Italian style and design.

As the name suggested, “Excellence Made in Italy” was a grand celebration of all Italian brands and products, which are distributed here in the Dominican Republic, and available at the Marina Casa de Campo. Being a long weekend thanks to the “Día de la Restauración” (the day the Dominican Republic celebrates the restoration of it’s independence from Spain), the Plaza Portofino of the Marina Casa de Campo buzzed with life. All the restaurants; Peperoni, Café Juanita, Limoncello and Chinois had their tables filled with guests enjoying a range of international cuisine. While wine bar La Enoteca was full of Casa de Campo villa owners and visitors sipping on champagne in eager anticipation of the fashion show. Kicking off the show was Elia Odoguardi, Secretary General of the Dominican – Italian Chamber of Commerce, who made a speech to the gathered crowd to introduce the event. And without further ado the fashion show got underway.

Featuring looks creating using the fashions of Marina Casa de Campo stores; Harmont and Blaine, Azzurro and Rubiluna, onlookers were not only able to applaud enthusiastically at all the beautiful clothes and designs – but could also identify from which store they could, at a later date, treat themselves to a certain dress, hat, pair of shoes or purse. With styles perfectly suited to the Casa de Campo-style there were certainly lots of tempting items… Also taking a leading role in the gathering was ERH Marine, representing Ferretti, Riva and Pershing yachts, as well as Ducati motorcycles. ERH Marine provided a magnificent backdrop to the occasion with a 56 SportRiva, a Ducati Multistrada 1200, an Itama 42, as well as a Vespa and Fiat 500 all quiet impressive examples of the very best of class Italian style and design.
