Famous salsero Marc Anthony, who we recently saw in La Romana for the grand opening of the new boy’s home of the Orfanato Niños de Cristo, will perform at a fundraising event to raise even more funds for the cause!
The Second Annual Maestro Cares Foundation “Changing Lives, Building Dreams Gala” will take place on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. This special event will feature a performance by Marc Anthony himself.
It was thanks to the first edition of this gala that the Maestro Cares Foundation was able to build and open the boys home for the Orfanato Niños de Cristo in La Romana, inaugurated in April of this year. (Click here for photos of the inauguration!)
Since opening this home for 50 boys in La Romana, the Maestro Cares Foundation recently broke ground on its second project, an orphanage and school in Barranquilla, Colombia which when complete in April, 2015 will be home to over 200 children. Many more projects are in the exploratory stages in countries such as Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico, among others.
About Maestro Cares Foundation
The Maestro Cares Foundation was founded in January 2012 to improve the quality of life of the neediest children in Latin America. It is the vision of its founders, global music icon Marc Anthony and entrepreneur Henry Cárdenas, to provide basic needs such as housing, nutrition, clean water, educational facilities and healthcare while also developing academic, recreational and agricultural programs so that these children can grow to become self-sufficient individuals.
