With the aim of implementing activities that develop the creativity of children and young people with their families, the Chavón Regional Museum of Archaeology for this Christmas season has created countless activities for those interested in the art world, with exhibitions, workshops, storytelling, among others.

From December 1 to January 11, 2020, there will be a beautiful art exhibition of the Nativity story known as Santos de Palo Dominicanos, handmade by the renowned Dominican artisans Roosevelt and Pedro Méndez, these pieces will be for sale starting at US$ 15 up to US$ 275.

Next Thursday, December 19 the museum will be hosting their traditional Maracas workshop followed by a good ol’Dominican Aguinaldo around Chavón at 6:00 p.m. where children can enjoy a moment full of music, games, and traditions. They will learn to create and decorate their own maracas, then visit our neighbors and various local businesses to bring them and their clientele some Christmas cheer singing traditional songs like “Las Arandelas”, “Alegre Vengo”, “De la montaña” and more. To end the night, Santa will be waiting for the kids at his home making it a great opportunity for them to talk to him again about their presents.

The last activity will be right before Christmas Eve, on Monday, December 23, the outstanding illustrator and Chavonera Taina Almodóvar will be reading her wonderful children’s book “Zul”, a story for all our curious little ones, between 4 to 10 years old, who wish to go out and explore the world someday. It is an interactive activity with many surprises for attendees. You will also be able to purchase the book and take it with you along with a personalized drawing by the author, for a cost of RD $ 850.00

Mark your calendars and come along with your children to these activities, we guarantee you will not regret it!
