From the 9th to the 12th of February, the 3rd annual celebratory week to mark the 2012 exaltations to the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame will be celebrated in Casa de Campo and La Romana, with numerous special occasions – including the “Los Inmortales” golf tournament to be played on Saturday the 11th of February on Casa de Campo’s Teeth of the Dog golf course!
In previous years, the golf tournament associated with the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame has been “by-invite-only”, but this year organizers have decided to open it up to the public – with 70 spaces available for golfers who would like to take part.
Golfers deciding to take part will play alongside 30 baseball “luminaries” including Bernie Williams, Andres Galarraga and Pedro Martínez and will be invited to attend a series of VIP events; the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame welcome dinner at the Casa de Campo villa of Roberto Weill (founder and president of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame), the Honorary Chairman’s Dinner at Casa Grande, being hosted by Alfy Fanjul, the golf tournament lunch and prize-giving ceremony, as well as the ”Grand Exaltation Ceremony” and induction dinner for the class of 2012.

About the “Latino Baseball Hall of Fame”
This year the 3 day celebration will include The Latino Baseball Hall of Fame (el salón de la fama del beísbol latino), founded by Roberto Weill with Alfy Fanjul and Rafael Avila in 2009, aims to celebrate the achievements of hispanic and Caribbean Major League Baseball players – who are largely absent from the National Baseball Hall of Fame in New York.
This year 12 players will be exalted to the Latino Baseball Hall of fame in the 3rd annual ”Grand Exaltation Ceremony”; Tony Oliva (Cuba), Aurelio Rodriguez (Mexico), Bengamín Oglivie (Panama), Bernie Williams (Puerto Rico), Tony Peña (Dominican Republic), Manny Trillo (Venezuela), Ramón Bragaña (Cuba), Angel Castro (Mexico), Pat Scantlebury (Panama), Luis Tite Arroyo (Puerto Rico), Diomedes Guayubín Olivo (Dominican Republic), Alejandro Patón Carrasquel (Venezuela).
The 3rd annual ”Grand Exaltation Ceremony” will be held on Saturday evening the 11th of February at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater.
