“Los Inmortales” golf tournament: special “golf-only” rate – just USD$195!

salon de la fama golf tournamentThis week from Thursday through to Saturday, the 3rd annual celebratory week to mark the 2012 exaltations to the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame is being celebrated in Casa de Campo with a number of special events to mark the occasion, including the “Los Inmortales” golf tournament this Saturday the 11th of February. 

For golfers interested in playing in the “Los Inmortales” golf tournament, the rate is USD$500, which includes entrance to the welcome dinner being hosted by Roberto Weill, the honorary chairman’s dinner hosted by Alfy Fanjul as well as the grand induction dinner for the “Class of 2012”, however we have just been informed that there is also a “golf-only” rate of USD$195 available, for those that would like to play golf and not attend the Induction ceremonies and other social events surrounding the tournament.

The “Los Inmortales” golf tournament will be played on the Teeth of the Dog golf course in Casa de Campo in “best ball” format in teams of 4 players and each team of 3 players will be joined by a baseball “luminary” who will make the 4th person of the team! Golfers will be able to socialise and mix with the baseball legends (the “luminaries”), as well as other special guests during the pre-golf tournament and prize-giving lunch, which will both take place at the start of the Teeth of the Dog golf course – close to the practice range.

 The $500 packet includes:
• Thursday: Welcome dinner at the Casa de Campo villa of Roberto Weill, founder and president of the Salon de la Fama de Beísbol Latino
• Friday: Honorary dinner and pairing party at Casa Grande, hosted by Alfy Fanjul, founder and honorary chairman of the Salon de la Fama de Beísbol Latino
• Saturday: Pre-golf breakfast
• Saturday: Tournament round on the Teeth of the Dog golf course
• Saturday: Lunch and prize-giving ceremony following the golf tournament
• Saturday: Induction dinner for the Class of 2012

 The golf-only USD$195 packet includes:
• Saturday: Pre-golf breakfast
• Saturday: Tournament round on the Teeth of the Dog golf course
• Saturday: Lunch and prize-giving ceremony following the golf tournament

About the “Latino Baseball Hall of Fame”

latino baseball hall of fame This year the 3 day celebration will include The Latino Baseball Hall of Fame (el salón de la fama del beísbol latino), founded by Roberto Weill with Alfy Fanjul and Rafael Avila in 2009, aims to celebrate the achievements of  hispanic and Caribbean Major League Baseball players – who are largely absent from the National Baseball Hall of Fame in New York.

This year 12 players will be exalted to the Latino Baseball Hall of fame in the 3rd annual ”Grand Exaltation Ceremony”;  Tony Oliva (Cuba), Aurelio Rodriguez (Mexico),  Bengamín Oglivie (Panama), Bernie Williams (Puerto Rico), Tony Peña (Dominican Republic), Manny Trillo (Venezuela), Ramón Bragaña (Cuba), Angel Castro (Mexico), Pat Scantlebury (Panama), Luis Tite Arroyo (Puerto Rico), Diomedes Guayubín Olivo (Dominican Republic), Alejandro Patón Carrasquel (Venezuela).

The 3rd annual ”Grand Exaltation Ceremony” will be held on Saturday evening the 11th of February at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater.
