It’s official! Semana Santa has started! This year things will be slightly different due to the special regulations for Semana Santa 2021 established by the Ministry of Tourism, but as per usual Casa de Campo style, the hotel will be hosting a few family-oriented events and activities for everyone to enjoy this week to the fullest. One of them is the ChiChigua Fest (kite-flying festival) which will be happening NEXT Wednesday, the 31st of March at the Casa de Campo soccer field.
The ChiChigua Fest is for EVERYONE – and even if you don’t like flying kites you’re more than welcome to come along and enjoy the fresh air, sun, and the beautiful display of chichiguas up on the sky! There will also be a stand selling water, juice, popcorn, and cotton candy.

WHAT IS THE EVENT ABOUT?
The event is essentially a ‘ChiChigua‘ or kite flying festival! There will be a number of ChiChigua contests with great prizes as well as an area to fly kites (separate from the contests).
There will be NO entrance fee to the event, or to take part in the Chichigua competitions. To take part in the competition you can register by emailing us at info@silgon.net with your name, age, and if you will be using a homemade or bought kite. Unfortunately, this year we will not be able to host a ‘kite-building workshop’, so please remember to bring your own.
As with all the events that take place in Casa de Campo, the Chichigua Fest will follow all health & safety protocols, so remember to bring your face mask and respect the physical distancing measure, which if you think about is easy when flying a chichigua. We also recommend wearing sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses and you can also bring your own water flask to keep hydrated.
Hope to see you all there!
