The Latino Baseball Hall of Fame (Salon de la Fama del Beisbol Latino – SFBL) recently announced the activities included in the Fifth Week of Exaltation, corresponding to Class of 2014, which will be taking place from February the 6th to 8th, in Casa de Campo and La Romana.
The announcement was made public through a press conference held on the fourth level of Agora Mall, in Santo Domingo.
The celebrations will begin with a private cocktail reception on Thursday the 6th of February, at the headquarters of Latino Baseball Hall of Fame (Salon de la Fama del Beisbol Latino – SFBL) in the Marina of Casa de Campo. This will be followed by a welcome dinner at La Casita restaurant, also in the Marina Casa de Campo. Both of these activities are private and are not open to the public.
On Friday February 7th, activities will continue with the realization of a baseball debate in the Cacique Conference Center, in Casa de Campo, with the assistance of sportswriters, the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame Luminaries, and members of the executive committee of the SFBL. This event is also by invitation only.
On the morning of Saturday the 8th of February, the “parade of immortals”, will take place in La Romana, starting from Padre Abreu Avenue to the central park of La Romana, where the statues of luminaries of the Class of 2013 will be revealed. Interested members of the public are welcome to come and watch the ceremony.

During the ceremony, and as every year, special awards are given to players and Executives for their careers and contributions to the latino baseball. This year the Latin Gold Award is for David Ortiz. The Latin Excellence Awards to Robinson Cano for his Most Valuable Player Award in the 2013 World Baseball Classic and Miguel Cabrera, the American League MVP in 2013, as well as Tom Lasorda Award, which is on the Commissioner of Major League Baseball.
