The Latin American Fashion Awards, a groundbreaking fashion event founded by Latin American fashion icons Constanza Etro and Silvia Argüello, etched its mark in history with its inaugural awards ceremony in the Dominican Republic. The highly-anticipated event unfolded at the iconic Altos de Chavón Amphitheater in Casa de Campo, uniting the crème de la crème of Latin American fashion for a stirring evening replete with emotions, anecdotes, and jubilation.
The Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Dominican actress and singer Leslie Grace, alongside the Argentine-Spanish international fashion model, actor, and TV presenter Iván de Pineda, added a touch of positive energy to the special night, creating a seamless synergy.
Esteemed members of the local and international fashion industry, celebrities, designers, and socialites graced the celebration of Latin American fashion. As the guests arrived at the Altos de Chavón Amphitheater, they graced the red carpet, adhering to the Fashion Attitude dress code. Notable attendees included J. Balvin, honored as the Latin Fashion Icon of the Year.
The prestigious international jury, led by designer Haider Ackermann, presented awards in 14 categories, offering attendees insights into what sets Latin American talent apart globally—identity, current challenges, and milestones. ELLE USA’s Editor-in-Chief, Nina García, presented the “Brand of the Year” award to Raúl López (Luar), showcasing the Dominican Republic’s influence on the global fashion stage.
The event also saw Petra Nemcova, an international supermodel and philanthropist, award Hiandra Martínez Model of the Year, and Indya Moore, a supermodel, actress, and activist, presenting the Local Star of the Dominican Republic award to Lineisy Montero.
One of the night’s most anticipated moments was J Balvin’s performance closing the ceremony. After receiving the Latin Fashion Icon of the Year award from Constanza Etro and Silvia Argüello, the globally renowned Colombian artist had all attendees on their feet, dancing to the rhythm of his well-known songs.
The memorable night concluded with a celebration at SBG Casa de Campo, where guests enjoyed cocktails and danced the night away.
