La Romana International Airport received its first direct flight from Madrid on Sunday, June 22, operated by Iberojet, the airline of Spanish tourism group Ávoris, which also operates under its well-known brand Evelop.
With this new service, La Romana gains an additional gateway from Spain, further strengthening its position as an attractive and sustainable growth destination within the Dominican Caribbean.
The regular flight, operated with a modern Airbus A330-300 configured with 388 seats, arrived with enthusiastic passengers who were greeted in a festive atmosphere that showcased the Dominican hospitality that is now an essential part of the region’s tourism appeal.
