During the evening, which brought together hotel directors, business leaders, civil and military authorities, as well as strategic partners of the La Romana destination, Andrés Fernández, president of the AHRB, highlighted the achievements of 2024 and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to sustainability and excellence in the tourism sector. In his speech, Fernández emphasized the importance of unity among AHRB members and public-private partnerships as key pillars for the continuous development of the destination.

“2024 has been a year of significant progress. We are particularly proud of the launch of the new Miami-La Romana air connection by American Airlines, a milestone that strengthens our international connectivity and opens new doors for promoting our destination. In addition, we successfully held a roadshow in the United States, visiting Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida, where we presented La Romana to more than 400 travel agents,” Fernández said.

The AHRB president also recognized the achievements of some of the association’s key partners, particularly La Estancia for its innovative hotel project that will diversify the region’s tourism offerings, and once again praised Casa de Campo Resort & Villas for its 50 years of excellence, which have contributed to positioning La Romana as a world-class destination.

During the event, the AHRB presented awards to two companies recognized for their commitment to the sustainable tourism development of La Romana. Domis Constructora Chiaramida was honored for its focus on sustainable projects that drive regional development and promote community well-being through the implementation of responsible construction practices.

At the close of the evening, Fernández expressed his gratitude to the Compañía Eléctrica de Bayahibe (CEB) for their support in organizing the event, highlighting them as essential strategic partners for the tourism growth of La Romana.
