In Altos de Chavón there’s a lot of places to eat, but is there a joint where you can just grab a beer and some simple snacks? Introducing La Eskina! Fresh Fresh’s new concept is stirring up quite the buzz. Located just outside of their colorful café, La Eskina creates a space for locals and tourists looking for more than a smoothie. The outdoor bar will offer beer and cocktails starting this Sunday, timing their opening perfectly with Chavón Fall Fest!
Meandering around Altos de Chavón this weekend, a friend of yours may want a healthy wrap or salad, but you on the other hand, you’re looking for a cold beer and some picaderas. Why compromise? Now, you don’t have to! Instead of giving in to one or the other, you and your bestie can enjoy both of what you want at affordable costs. The relaxed, informal setting whose title translates to “the corner” in English is not meant for dressing up. Come as you are, day or night to your spot, your corner.
This Sunday, La Eskina takes advantage of Rediscovering Chavón, inaugurating their new concept as Altos de Chavón shows incomers what it’s made of – the talented artisans & local shops, historical musuems, best in dining, and ways for the kiddos to have some fun. From 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., the grand opening will offer live reggae music and a tarot reading! Whether you believe in it or not, get psyched for the possibilities or avoid the possible pitfalls of whatever the cards may say! It’s another way for you to enjoy yourself and this Sunday-Funday at Fall Fest!
La Eskina will be a permanent locale in Altos de Chavón, so come by and say hello to the new bar, offering various “pikaderas” and “koktails” this Sunday, October 30th. Time to relax and enjoy La Eskina!

Fall happens to be one of my favorite times of the year; as a forever North Carolinian at heart, I enjoy autumn’s cooler weather, the red and orange leaves that fill the mountain landscapes, and the festivals that always surround this exciting season. This year though, I have the pleasure of seeing how Casa de Campo celebrates October and I’m more than thrilled to visit Altos de Chavón this weekend for their Fall Festival! With plenty of activities for kids, this list is just the beginning… Read more here!
