Rejoice, wine lovers! We’re about to have a wonderful opportunity for a delicious wine journey through Italy, Argentina, Spain, Chile and California. La Enoteca at the Marina is having an Open House Wine Tasting this Friday, June 17th.
La Enoteca by Vinos S.A. is a perfect place for wine tasting and shopping. Their beautiful location at the Portofino Plaza in the Marina makes it a great place to sit down and enjoy a glass or two of wine as you take in the afternoon breeze.
Given that La Enoteca is managed by one of the biggest wine distributors in the Dominican Republic, their selection of wine is unbelievable. Most wines can be purchased by the glass in addition to a bottle.
Save the date for this Friday, June 17th for their Open House Wine Tasting which begins at 6:30 pm. For just RD $2,000, you’ll be introduced to 16 varieties of wine coming from all over the world (the tasting fee is refunded if six or more bottles are purchased).
One of my personal recommendations to try is the Orben, Rioja from Spain. It is a highly awarded wine; the 2011 vintage was given a score of 94 by Wine Spectator. It is a more modern version Rioja, hence a very dark colour and rather nice balance of a slight oak flavor and a hint of vanilla.
One of the best new world wines is Vina San Pedro 1865 Single Vineyard Syrah, Cachapoal Valley, Chile one of the most popular wines in the region. The 2007 vintage was given a score of 93 by Wine & Spirits Magazine. 1865 Syrah has everything Syrah is loved for; it is meaty and peppery with youthful tannins, yet firm and fruity!
