Held in the spectacular 5,000 seat amphitheater in Altos de Chavón, KANDELA! brings you the best of Dominican music and dance, as well as some spectacular costumes – bejewelled bikini’s, giant pineapple headdresses and much more with lots of feathers, sequins and ruffles!
The show, which aims to showcase the rich and varied Dominican culture includes songs and dances representing various Dominican traditions, festivals and special occasions – such as Carnaval a colorful parade and festival celebrated every year throughout the month of February. Other songs and dances include “Las Maracas” – with some rather impressive and eye-popping gyrating, the romantic: “No me ames” originally recorded by Marc Anthony with Jennifer Lopez performed as a duet with a handsome Dominican couple, as well as a fast-paced salsa number and much more!
The show ends with some audience participation as members of the public are invited on stage to merengue dance with the performers (this is completely optional!)
The show is attended by a group of tourists visiting from the Costa Luminosa cruise ship which docks every Monday in La Romana – but everyone is welcome to enjoy the show! Another option for Monday evenings is a trip aboard the Costa Luminosa – which welcomes Casa de Campo visitors from 7:30pm for dinner, drinks and entertainment – please click here for details.
