Baila Baila Baila!! The pride of the Altos de Chavón amphitheater “KANDELA!”, a mesmerising showcase of Dominican dance and culture is coming back – with a series of show dates from December 2011 to April 2012.
Kandela! brings you the best of Dominican Dance, singing and some spectacular costumes (involving bejewelled bikini’s, giant pineapple headdresses and full body feathered creations!)
Watch out for “Las Maracas” – the way these ladies play the maracas is VERY unique, I can guarantee you will have never seen anything like it.
Kandela! is a ‘Casa de Campo must-see.’ With a repertoire of at least a dozen different acts – each with their own incredible costume, the talented dancing girls and boys of Kandela! will have you dancing in the aisles (and if you’re lucky and willing even on the stage!)

In the original information provided to us by Altos de Chavón the below ticket prices were being applied to Casa de Campo villa owners and guests. BUT, having attended the first show last Monday, I found that there was no-one taking tickets – so it would seem that the show is free! HOWEVER – I have contacted various people in charge of the show and have not yet received an official response on whether or not the show is in fact free. As soon as I know more I will update! My advice? Show up and walk in!
