Last weekend, Hogar del Niño hosted another fantastic charity weekend filled with fun activities for a great cause! On Saturday, February 17th, the La Romana Country Club tennis courts were filled with players playing matches starting in the morning into the afternoon! Though there were a few showers here and there, nothing stopped the community from coming together for friendly competition for the kids!

After a fun, back and forth Elvira Garcia took home the title of Women’s Champion with Magdalena Cavasos coming in as Women’s Runner Up!

Julio Cuello and Victor Padua were the Men’s Champions with Peter Landshut and Arturo Quezada taking the title of Runner’s Up!

While the tennis courts were full, over on the La Romana Golf Course teams were teeing off for an exciting golf scramble. A few light sprinkles kept the temperature cool! Teams played either in the morning or afternoon, giving community members the chance to play and get involved! Everyone on the course was having a good time, all the while raising money for a great cause!

Coming in first place with a score of 58 was Danilo Bobadilla, Leonardo Sánchez, José Luis Montero, and Carlos Haché. Coming in close second with a score of 55.8 was Luis A. Mera, Victor Fondeur, Alejandro Bobadilla, and Gian Paulino.

The golf and tennis tournaments for Hogar del Niño weekend have been long standing traditions attracting community members from all over for many years. Hogar del Niño takes care of many children offering a variety of educational programs. Its success wouldn’t be possible without the reoccuring support of our community! Thank you to all who came and participated!  See you next year for Hogar del Niño XXII!
