Turning 30 years old is a memorable moment in any woman’s life, but getting the opportunity to mark this milestone having just gotten engaged, well that’s a dream come true! That’s right, Casa de Campo’s resident beauty queen, Jorien van der Meij is soon to marry Arturo Quezada, and become Jorien van der Meij de Quezada! The engagement took place just 2 days before Jorien turned 30, making her grand 30th birthday party somewhat of a double celebration! Jorien, from Holland first arrived to the Dominican Republic as a competitor in the beauty pageant Miss Multiverse, a contest that brought her to Casa de Campo… and soon after that to the arms of longtime Casa de Campo villa owner Arturo Quezada of Quezada, money exchange agency. During her time in the Dominican Republic, Jorien and the competitors of the Miss Multiverse Pageant came to Casa de Campo to model in the 1st annual Marina Fashion Show, raising funds for the Orfanato Ninos de Cristo and they also joined us for a Sunset Jazz Night at the Azimut Cafe. And yet the love story of Arturo and Jorien did not start until the beauty pageant took Jorien to Juanillo Beach in Cap Cana, where not only was she only crowned Mrs Multiverse, but she also met the love of her life. Nearly 2 years later, Arturo and Jorien returned to that same beach, and under the guise of celebrating her 30th birthday, Arturo got down on one knee and surprised her with a beautiful diamond ring!
