Do you know Jorien van der Meij? How about Viktorija Seijas? Together these two young and ambitious Casa de Campo residents have founded a new business here in Casa de Campo.
Jorien, who is from the Netherlands and Viktorija, from Lithuania are proud to present their new business venture, “Boutique de Bordado”, specializing in personalised embroidery. Here we get to know Jorien and Viktorija, as well as Boutique de Bordado.
@cdcliving: Tell us about yourselves.
Viktorija is from Lithuania and moved to the Dominican Republic, Casa de Campo a couple of years ago. Her economics studies and experience working in Red Bull Lithuania and 28 Back in Paris helps her now in establishing the Boutique de Bordado. Viktorija is also certified kitesurfing instructor, and Lithuanian snow kiting women speed record ower (54,64km/h). To relax from work she likes to do all possible sports like rollerblading, kiteboarding, tennis and etc.
Jorien was born and raised in the Netherlands. She studied accounting and worked for ten years as an external auditor in an accounting firm. In 2012 she came for the first time to the Dominican Republic, when she fell in love with the country and in particular with a Dominican man. In October 2013 she decided to move to Casa de Campo. She started working as an English teacher at the Hogar de Niño school, which she now combines with her work for Boutique de Bordado. To relax from working she likes to take a yoga class or a run around Casa de Campo.
@cdcliving:Why did you decide to create Boutique de Bordado?
We started as a hobby. We used to embroider all our house items and gifts to friends because we noticed how those little details can make a big difference in the ambience of the house.
@cdcliving:Why did you start working together?
Jorien: Viktorija was already doing embroidery for some clients with her mother in law, who has been passionate about embroidery all her life. I already knew Viktorija before I moved here. When I moved to Dominican Republic Viktorija made me a proposal about working together.
Viktorija: We just came to the level that I realized that we have to officially establish Boutique de Bordado. When Jorien moved here I knew that she would be a great person to work with, because I noticed that she has the same drive that I have.
That’s how besides friends we are also now business partners.
@cdcliving:What services do you offer?
Boutique de Bordado provides the highest quality and variety of embroidery services in the eastern region of Dominican Republic. We embroider everything that is possible.
Whether you want to personalize your house or boat details, you are looking for a personalized gift or you need to have your company’s shirts embroidered for your employees – we will do it for you.
We help the client to choose the designs, fonts of letters and colors to keep the personal touch in creation of the product.
Besides embroidery we also aim to fulfill each customer’s needs for home textile and personal presents. For the moment we represent a couple of brands of towels and bedsheets for different kind of budgets. We now sell aprons and in the near future napkins, uniforms, baby presents and other items for embroidery.
@cdcliving:What makes you different?
We always aim for the best quality by having a strict quality control. Also we aim for a high level of service. We visit our clients to hear their needs and to see how we can help them in the best way possible. We deliver the embroidered products to their house.
@cdcliving:What are your most popular products among Casa de Campo customers?
Casa de Campo villa owners like to personalize their home textiles. Therefore the towels are very popular. Also napkins, bedsheets and personalized gifts for birthdays, Christmas, baby showers and mother’s day.
@cdcliving:What are your future plans?
There are no boundaries for perfectionism. Therefore we will always search for the best way to exceed the expectations of our clients.
