The Joli-Day Beach event sponsored by Mini and La Enoteca, last Saturday the 27th of November was a big fat splishy splashy success!! More than 500 Casa de Campo residents, visitors and aficionados came to the Playa Minitas to enjoy the festive party atmosphere with the 2 inflatable water slides, DJ, shopping, champagne bar, BBQ, car show by Mini, kids games and even 2 parrots and a monkey!   The party really got going around 10.30am – as soon as the 2 giant inflatable water slides were blown up! For the kids the addition of 2 inflatable water slides to Minitas Beach was so exciting – the little ones came running from all across the beach and before long there was a very long line of excited, happy faces waiting to slip and slide their way down into the sea! Of course the slippery fun wasn’t just for kids – knowing that many of our friends (as well as ourselves) would want to have a go, we made sure to get inflatables big enough for adults and sure enough before long the adults had joined the kids in the line! Wooshing down the slide and falling with a great plop into the sea was so exhilirating and FUN – no wonder it kept the kids amused literally ALL day! As well as the ‘kids’ slide (the less scary one), we also had a more should we say ‘daring’ slide – which proved very popular with the bigger kids, crazy teens, reckless adults, as well as some of the more brave tiny ones – in short everyone loved it! (Except me – I though it was rather scary!!)

Lia, Stefano and Daphne prepare for the big plunge!!

Here are just a small selection of photos taken of the children enjoying the slides – I have literally hundreds more, so if you don’t see you photo (or your kids’), then please be patient it’s coming soon!

‘Haciendo la cola!’ Most of the children were very patient and waited in line!

Sliding, climbing, bouncing and playing in the sand are all very strenuous activities and so for when everyone had built up a good appetite the Casa de Campo ‘Tex-Mex’ Beach BBQ Buffet was the perfect place to enjoy a bite to eat and replenish those batteries for more bouncy fun!!

Although the 2 inflatable water slides were undoubtedly the main attraction (so simple and yet such fun!), there was much more to see and do during the day. There was the ‘Bazaar Playero’ were you could shop at the Art Arena gift store with a beautiful range of new jewellery, as well as at the Fundacion MIR and Hogar del Niño stores. Also adding to the fun was new local business ‘Talento a Domicillio’ a company who offer a huge range of services such as photography, cooking, chofer, videography and much more. At the beach, ‘Talento a Domicilio’ spent the day filming and photographing for us, as well as bringing along a monkey and 2 parrots to create unrivalled photo opportunities – their photos coming soon! As side from all the ‘kids’ fun there was of course the ‘Joli-Day Beach Bar’ by La Enoteca which served an endless supply of champagne to keep the parents as merry as their over-excited children!

Joli-Day Beach: not just for kids!

Could a Mini Cooper soon become the new golf cart? When driving around Casa de Campo what better way to travel in style, than in one of the world’s sexiest most compact designer cars? Mini has only just gained official representation in the Dominican Republic with Magna Motors of Santo Domingo and so you can expect many more of these beautiful, practical and fun cars popping up in Casa de Campo! Trust us Mini is ‘de moda!’ Of course, as you can’t have helped but notice we have Mini to thank for this GREAT beach event, who sponsored us and therefore made the event possible!

Mini showcased 5 of their beautiful Mini’s on the beach, which understandably attracted a lot of attention! Many many many thanks to our event sponsors La Enoteca by Vinos SA. and Mini for making this event possible and thanks to everyone who came and supported us!! Remember these events are for the community – without your support none of this would be possible! During the event I took more than 500 photos, the majority of which will be published soon – in the meantime here are some of the best ones: [nggallery id=607]
