The Hogar del Niño invites you to their first-ever boys and girls concert this Wednesday at 10:30 a.m at the school. As part of their “Culture and Sports” project they initiated two years ago under the direction of Mario Galletto, much progress has been underway. In February of 2016, a new Multicultural Sports Pavilion was constructed, and at the beginning of 2017 an alliance was made with the BoMana Cultural Center.
The BoMana Cultural Center, a foundation that supports music, theater, and arts education, worked with the Hogar del Niño to develop the school’s music band, train Pre-School teachers in Music Education and Singing, and form a Music Activities program. Together they will also start a scholarship management program for children and young people of the school to participate in the Arts Education programs of the BoMana Cultural Center.
The Hogar del Niño says, “Our students have received this program with great love and enthusiasm, and the Hogar del Niño Music Band is a reality! We have around 350 talented students who benefit from this great project by demonstrating their musical abilities. For 2018, we hope to add a ‘Bel Canto’ class to complete music education and allow students to experience its lyrical teachings. It is a project we believe in and are proud of the achievements of our children. We are sure that Music will be an important factor in their lives fostering positive values.”
Mario Galletto also noted that the benefit of the new music program is its promotion of discipline, respect, effort, solidarity, and integrity in young students. The Hogar del Niño’s comprehensive education center cares for over 1,700 children daily and provides equal attention to both the Liberal Arts and Sciences; their flexible curriculum puts emphasis on music, art and theater as a form of free expression that invites students to develop their talents. We are so pleased at their ever-progressing areas of education for students and encourage your attendance in their first concert to appreciate this new initiative!!
